Henry Gabay is a Swiss investment professional and is the co-founder and chairman of Duet Group, an international alternative investment firm. Besides being most prominent for his expertise in emerging and frontier markets, Gabay has decades of experience in alternative investments, hedge funds, wealth management, and private equity. He resides in London.
Born in 1967 in Geneva, Gabay studied Finance and Economics at the University of Geneva, from which he graduated in 1991.
Henry Gabay began his career in the financial sector by joining Merrill Lynch International, where he was in charge of Emerging European equities. In 1997, he left Merrill Lynch International to become the head of equity sales for emerging markets at Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB), a multinational financial holding company and investment bank. He was later promoted to serve as CSFB’s head of investment banking for Turkey and Israel.
Launching Duet Group
Gabay co-founded Duet Group in 2002 in London and is the firm’s CEO. As a global investment holding company, Duet Group is the controlling shareholder of multiple asset managers, including Duet Private Equity, Emerging Markets Investment Management, Duet Alternative Investments, Merit Capital, and the Group’s centralized service company Hill Street Limited.
